we've not had much luck with these and yet again one I bought last year has started to collapse on me. I hot it from homebase thinking it was lightweight metal and would buckle less than a wooden one I had before. But now when I put even some light things on it, it just folds back down again.

Has anyone got any great ideas???

that wooden one is just like the one we had before, certianly last longer than this one.

We got ours at big Tescos. It is huge and cost about £13. Easy to put up, even one handed.

Cod's does look more lovely though.

i REALLY LIKE MINE, but it can from Argos, in the end of catologue sale. It's stainless steel and is a concetina upright type thing. It's never fallen over yet! And you should see how it's loaded at time! If you try and get a more 'costly' one, then you may find the quality is better. Mine was about £20, and as I said, from argos!

buy a crosstrainer, or any sort of sports equipment. they make very good clothes horses.

lol it's true - dp's exercise bike is brilliant for drying shirts!

Carameli · 08/09/2005 13:23

I like the idea stich

Might have a at tescos or Argos or somewhere like that. Its a chrome one that we have, the same as the one in lakeland. But the problem is the leavers just collapse now, making it a real annoyance and we've tried to fix it without any luck.

Carameli · 08/09/2005 13:33

exactly!! I only remember these things when I am home sorting out laundry and wondering how to dry it...... luckily we are selling our flat and moving and the next place will have a tumble dryer and my dh doesn't know it yet but I want to something decent to dry washing on, whether the area we are going to likes washing lines or rotary things or not

OP posts:

does it depend on area, whether we use a washing line or rotary dryer thing?
gosh, must learn rules of how to be posh.

when you say Minky do you mean the gate one. I was looking at that one? Perhaps its less likely to have problems like the concertina type ones????

I've just ordered two this morning from www.cotswoldco.com

If you search for Airer or Dryer on this site you get horrible ones. If you go to the section Shop from Catalogue and use the product code 3321 you get a fabulous Extending Laundry Airer 126cmx 63.5cm x 63.5cm that folds flat. Easily takes a large load of washing.

I bought two identical ones to this when I lived in Amsterdam and and they were so so good we brought them home with us. Now looking very sorry for themselves after the three-phase electricity thing in the cupboard under the stairs starting dripping tar (really) and ruined my poor airers. But that's another story ......

20% off all Cotswold items until 12th September so hurry !
