DD1 collecting Rainbow Magic books. Cheap way of collecting them?

DD1 loves the Rainbow Magic books. She has quite a few older ones and is asking for more.
Most of them have come from charity shops but they don't come up very often.
Is there a better way of getting them?
Found a set of 42 on the book people website but she has at least half of these so not really worth paying £20.

Was going to suggest the book people! Book people offer may still work out cheaper at £1 each for the 20 she wants and you could ebay/car boot the rest?

They are often on 3 for 2 in WH Smith/Waterstones but they don't seem to get much cheaper.

ebay?

You might find a few being sold together rather than individually buying them

VivaLeBeaver · 01/10/2010 13:01

When a new set come out The Book People tend to do the whole set for about £7.

TheNextMrsDepp · 01/10/2010 13:03

Our local charity shop is always heaving with them! They always appear at school fairs too.

Thanks. Have looked on Ebay but once postage is added it doesn't make it very cheap. Will just have to keep searching the charity shops Smile and may get the book people set. Smile

Definitely book people. We have about 60 of the feckers, all bought in special offer sets from BP.

Library?
!

melpomene · 02/10/2010 09:47

Most of them are available used on Amazon for 1p, plus £2.75 postage makes £2.76 so still cheaper than the cover price.

Or how about just borrowing them from the library? Our local libraries have loads of them.

ninja · 02/10/2010 09:48

Shame you're not near us you could have done me dd1 a favour and bought all of ours at a very reasonable rate.

I might second the library as she probably won't be into them for that long

Tortoise · 02/10/2010 09:50

Have tried library before but could have another look although she does like to read them again or DD2 tries to read them.

Why dont you buy the book people set and sell all the brand new duplicates on ebay. You'll probably make your money back.
