hike up the prices if the have to, but give us alternative fuels.
whats wrong with developing the sodding electric cars? i rarely manage to get to 40 mph around here anyways. i dont care if it doesnt do 120mph.

WideWebWitch · 07/09/2005 10:18

Janh · 07/09/2005 10:20

I just posted this on the fuel protests thread:

stitch · 07/09/2005 10:21

thats the car i want.
i know in agra, around the taj mahal, only electric cars are allowed. to reduce pollution which would affect the marble.

apparantly fuel cells are what they are mostly focusing on atm.

Janh · 07/09/2005 10:45

It's been 99.9 here for days There are only 2 garages in town and I would use £2-worth of fuel driving to & from a cheaper alternative so it's not worth it unless I'm going there anyway.

I think I will start topping up whenevr I do see it cheaper though instead of chugging around until the light comes on.

NomDePlume · 07/09/2005 10:47

Give me a few mins to have a look for you Stitch . It is liely to be the same size as a standard petrol 106, so pretty small...

Toyota Prius Hybrid

Janh · 07/09/2005 11:03

I would love a Prius but they start at £17,500

NomDePlume · 07/09/2005 11:05

Loads on Autotrader starting from £4995

Janh · 07/09/2005 11:10

Ooh, NDP, I'd assumed there wouldn't be many second hand - choice of 3 , low mileage, £8k! Interesting.

I need the seats in my Zafira but if DH ever needs to buy one (has co. car atm but co. not looking too healthy) I would steer him towards one of these

NomDePlume · 07/09/2005 11:11

Our wedding photographer had one and swore by it.

GeorginaA · 07/09/2005 13:53

NdP - can't find the peugeot 106 electric on the peugeot site, but if memory serves it only had a 40-50 mile range?

I want a Nissan Altra but doesn't look like they're going to produce them in Europe Range of 120 miles ish, top speed 70mph, completely electric. Battery life of around 200,000 miles (so life of car basically). 80% fully charged within an hour. Costs about £1.50 per full 100% charge. Want one want one want one...

Tortington · 07/09/2005 15:08

how do you charge them up?
