we have an upcoming holiday to the states in november and ds will be 15.5 months then, i was wondering what anyone might recommend for a 'portable' high-chair? like those ones that clip onto the table? any ideas? recommendations? advice? experiences? thanks!

The other thing I would recommened is a set of reins. You can then use these to sort of wind around a seat to hold the child in place. useful for you come across seat that the wee fabirc portable "seat" won't fit.

I got a handbag highchair from Blooming marvellous and it was wonderful. I loved the fact you can just tuck these away in your bag.

Its also a lot chaeaper than the tot seat.
I hope the link works ok....

Another vote for handbag highchair, it's fab.

I got one from this ebay seller - very cheap, and fantastic

Mine was never used-too small for large awkward child on most chairs in restaurants and homes.

Another vote for the handbag highchair - is useful to keep dd in one place - downside no tray - and very easy to fold away - takes no storage space etc.

we travelled this summer, daughter was 17 months and bought the '1st years on the go booster seat'. I found the other ones mentioned were too low for her. This one has a self inflating seat, and it was very compact for travelling! Worked well on all chairs we encountered. I really recommend it. She sat at the same height as us on the table with this one. Do a google search, there are all kinds of places that sell them, they run about 20 pounds or so.

thanks again for the tips everyone... i dont want to spend too too much on one for fear if ds (whom can be very wiggly and not wanting to sit still for long) does not get on with it and ahhhhhh!! well, you know ;)

I just came back from the states and every restaurant without exception had High chairs, AND boosters for the bigger kids, which I used for my 2.5 year old. If you are visiting someone's home that might be different.

we wont be staying in many hotels and we will staying with my family/friends mostly... so something portable will be needed!!
