My DS is going to be two in a few weeks. I would love to buy him a tricycle. The one which we have (Thomas) is not good for him because he cannot reach the pedals. I bought it for my older DS but he could never cycle it because of the pedals. Both of them have normal lengh legs. I just should not have bought it without checking it first in the shop. So, is there anything that could be easily driven by a little boy?

get a balance bike instead.

we've had 2 different trikes and neither of them got much use, whereas the balance bike gets used most days.

My older DS has a Puky balance bike which is still too big for the younger DS. It is also expensive and I do not want to pay £70.00 or > on a balance bike. Is there anything cheaper but good? I will have a look at Amazon for "toddler" balance bikes.

We also have a puky, which said it was ok from 2.5, but DS2 went onto it shortly after his 2nd birthday, and he has very short legs!

does he have a scooter?

(sorry if i'm not really answering your question, i just found trikes a waste of money.)

We have a Puky balance bike and probably will just lower the saddle for the younger DS and older DS will get his first bike. I have been looking at Puky bikes and they are quite expensive. They are good because they are not heavy. I would have loved to find something like that for less than £100.00.

Ds1's first bike was a really small raleigh. We gave it to him on his 4th b'day.

It is hard to get the sizing right without taking him to a bike shop IMO. We went for the smaller of the two sizes that the shop said would be ok on the basis that he'd then pass it on to ds2. I think having a much smaller bike than his friends had made it a lot easier to manage without stabilizers. He is now 5.5 and will get a bigger bike for xmas.
