no lilsmum don't give up!
A friend of mine wears these, takes them out every Saturday night and puts new pair in on Sunday am. She swears by them.
however fwiw my optician told me not to shower or swim in my contacts (30-day disp) because of risk of infection so I asked what do you do if you wear the weekly ones (apart from never swim or shower!!!) and he said, oh, well, be careful! so that's worth asking about I guess.

well, if anyone is thinking of trying these/getting these....my answer would be....

DONT BOTHER!!

they are rubbish, cant leave them in all day, let alone all month!!

are they that bad then? Im going on friday to see about getting contact lens and was thinking of getting some.

lilsmum · 04/09/2005 21:20

whimsey...they are double the money per month(compared to monthly lenses), and really are not worth it.

you never know, they may be good for you,ask for a weeks trial, but i honestly cant see anyone being able to wear these continuely for 30 days i was really excited about trying them.

I'll have to try some other ones then. The optician said they were fab.

lilsmum · 04/09/2005 21:36

whimsy, just ask for a trial, see how you get on, they should give you some to try out.

the thing is, when you get these lenses, you just get the lenses, no solution, so if you need to give your eyes a rest (i did overnight last night) you need to but solution AS WELL, which is about £15 per month....i gonna go back onto the monthly desposibles (sp?) at least you get the solution, and lenses for about £8, continuous wear lenses are £15.50 a month.

I gave these a trial for a week (Specsavers) but they weren't suitable for me . The extra solution you'd need (if you want to take them out to give your eyes a break)is only about £4 a bottle in Boots, so not too pricey. I currently use monthly disposables but wanted the 24 hour ones for special occasions......holidays, late nights out etc.
