I'm off to do my own research in a minute but I thought I'd check with you girls as well. If you have a slide for your kids in the garden which one do you have and do you rate it?

What else do you have in the garden that your kids love?

We have a swing, a sand pit, paddling pools, a car, balls etc, going to get a slide, what else might Lottie love that yours love?

Thank you for slide info.

Nemo, pls tell me more about bouncy castle. Lottie adores them (what kid doesn't), tell me more please. Oh and can it take pissed adults jumping on it when kids have gone to bed??!!

For next summer, you might think about getting a 'waterslide' sheet - a long strip of tough plastic (? PVC?) which goes at the end of a slide. You then play a hose on it, possibly with the addition of washing up liquid, and the kids slide down the slide and all the way along the waterslide sheet. Great Little Trading Co. has them; some people say just buy a sheet of plasticky stuff from a builder. Hours of messy fun, with a bath essential afterwards.

my kids have the elc climbing frame slide thing. which they enjoy.last year they loved their trampoline, but some foxes chewed through the elastic, which i havent managed to get round to replacing this year.
the water slide is absolutely brilliant. but it does have to be a very hot day to use. asda had a lovely cheapy one.

a wendy house? I'm lucky, my dad built DD a wooden "cottage" which is fantastic. It's been a hospital, a tea room, a garage, caravan - endless fun and they can stay out there even if it's raining!!!!

NannyL · 31/08/2005 22:09

I think a sand pit is one of the best investmenst you can make ever.... for £20 you will get hours and hours and hours of peace while the kids play!

you may need to buy a few new bags of sand once or twice a year but they are not expensive!

Oh and if you got the room for a big trampoline with nets around it, that will give you hours of peace as well!

Thomcat · 01/09/2005 08:37

Thanks a lot for that Nemo.
And everyone else.

we have thi in the garden in summer princess castle as it's always been sometihng that dd could crawl into - now walk - and should she fall it's perfectly soft and safe - then in winter it comes in the house or goes into a bin liner - it was also soemthing she could do on her own.

KBear · 01/09/2005 11:51

Thomcat - has Lottie got a coupe car? I've got a couple that my two have grown out of. You're welcome to one of them if you can collect from SE London.

Thomcat · 01/09/2005 11:59

Kbear, that is so kind and thank you very, very much, but she has one, thank you though.

Malory that sounds fab but with all the other bits not sure we have room for that in the garden.

My dad built my 2 a fantastic playtower with 2 swings, climbing wall, fireman's pole (very popular) rope ladder and a very fast slide (3 m TP one - it's really good but my hips are too big to fit it!!!)
We got a large trampoline this year which is really good - and strong enough for me.
My 3 year old loves a bouncy horse we bought in the US - it's similar to a space hopper but it's horse shaped. Sandpit also popular.

Nemo1977 · 01/09/2005 13:46

Thomcat · 01/09/2005 15:32
