Mooncups...the way forward???????

I've been reading about mooncups in another thread. My period flow changes from month to month. When I use a tampon my period almost stops. Would a mooncup cope with changing flows without causing me problems?

Yup. They are the future.

How do you clean them out. Do you need more than one?

Yes they are great and they can cope with any flow. It does take a bit of practice to get the knack though as they don't sit up as high as a tampon but stick with it, they really are great!

But they are a bugger to get in or out when you wear very tight skinny jeans Blush

i didn't like mine. It leaked and was disgusting to clean out.

You can either tip it out into the toilet and wipe with a tissue or rinse with some water and then re-insert. After you have finished your period you should rinse out and sterilise by boiling in a pan or using steam/electric steriliser. No, you shouldn't need more than one. Make sure you buy the right size though.

They will only leak if you havn't got the insertion technique right and you need to create a suction. Not a problem with skinny jeasn here either, how would that be a problem?

thenamelesslady · 28/08/2010 21:31

How do you work out the correct size? I don't fancy asking DH to measure my lady bits!!!Confused

There are 2 sizes. Small and large. You should use the smaller one if you are under 30 (I think) and have not had a vaginal birth. You should buy the bigger one if you are over 30 and/or have had a vaginal birth. Size guide is on the website.

thenamelesslady · 28/08/2010 21:34

over 30 but 2 c sections?

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 28/08/2010 21:35

You should use the smaller size if you have had a c-sect I think but the size guide is on the back of the box.

Thanks. I'll find the website and have a look.
