found dropping on cooker yesterday ...any suggestions with respect to getting rid of them from a victorian terrace in london????

DH frantically filling up holes under stairs and in kitchen and very worried since have 4 week old at home.

have heard that Robert Dyas sell plug ins which emmit a high frequency sound wave which repels them....do these work?

I have called environmental health but i know other than leaving a few baits boxes not much else will be done. any tips greatly appreciated.

Aahh, but it is my dopey cat that brings them in to "play" with, then forgets about them....

And it is always me that sees/hears them then I have to convince DH that I haven't made it up!

Mind you, bats are worse.

We used traps but the little buggers just ate the grub and escaped.
So we put poison down.
They all came out to die slow horrible deaths - shaking and twitching for hours.
It wasn't nice but we got rid.

We get them about this time of year every year, when they harvest and plough the fields that surround our house.

Have got something similar to pestclear, but that hasn't stopped them coming in. We use traps and poison - you can get child/pet friendly poison boxes from Homebase. They help because at least you can see if the poison has been touched, so once they stop eating it you can be confident that they are all gone.

If you have a cupboard under your stairs then set a trap in there, as they love ours. They also like to hide under the grates of our open fires.

Good luck and happy hunting!

We had to have a pest control expert. He suggested stopping up any holes in brickwork etc, v important if you've had any building work done. Reduce height of climbing plants on walls. He got rid of ours with poison - said they reproduce very quickly so if you've killed one you won't have got rid of the rest !! Hope this helps
