Can anyone recommend any of these, some childrens ones are very poor quality, looking early for Christmas. Also good imitation bugs/insects, not the cheapie plastic ones.

What age triplets? Microscopes you very much get what you pay for. So anything £50 or under at least is not going to be much good, but then if you want it for a young child who's basically going to use it as a toy, then I wouldn't want an expensive/proper one ... DS1 (8) has a couple of 'toy' microscopes, which he can see a bit with. He would love a big one but he's not getting one yet, as I don't think he is really old enough. (Tbh he would love an electron microscope ROFL!)

The same goes for binoculars really. The boys have 'toy' binoculars to play with. But when dh takes them out birdwatching we have two pairs of 'proper' (very expensive) binoculars which they can use under close supervision.

Was also going to say 7 day shop, bought some for about £6 a pair last xmas as presents, and they were really good. I keep ds's pair in my bag.
