hello,

i have 2 needy cats that have to be kept inside, and will soon need to install stairgates for our 5 month old.

i don't want to restict the cats, and was wondering if there's such a thing as a stairgate that cats can squeeze through? my baby is bigger than the cats now so i am hopeful!

any there any cat loving stairgate owners out there?!

ps they have 3 legs each ( i got them like that!) so probably can't jump over.

our 3 legged cat could jump! and catch rabbits, so oyu might be ok!

Just fix the stairgate high enough for the cat to squeeze under the bottom?

thanks for your posts- looks like there's hope!

we just got the wooden ones from ikea and our cat can squeeze under the bottom.

:)

We got the free one from the Surestart Centre, and the cat squeezed round the side easily.

A Kiddiguard mounted slightly higher would easily allow a cat to squeeze under it

Our 2 cat squeeze through the side of the the top stairgate (we attached ours with a big gap one side and no gap the other side)and jump through the bottom of the bannisters downstairs to avoid the stair gate.

Buy a wooden stair gate and shorten one of the rungs at the side (making sure the sawn off bit is safe by gluing a wooden block onto the end, this will also strengthen the area) and hey prestow a small hole for your cat to get through.

Our cat has four perfectly working legs but was just too lazy to jump over it (unless the loft ladder was down of course and then she would be over it like a shot Hmm)

Your children are also provided with a handy hole for 'posting' items down the stairs Wink
