DD2 has requested from her granny a pair of skates for her birthday - where do I start?!!!

I am guessing I need to get in line skates - does anyone have any advice or recommendations please?
Thanks

Inlines are cheaper (usually in quality and price), more likely to be size adjustable, usually better looking.

But quads can be just as good to skate on, much better for fancy skating (figure-skating).

Look at the Reviews on Amazon, the Groovy Chicks size-adjustable inlines get reasonably rated. Argos sells them, too, iirc.

Decathalon (if one is near you) has a very good range of children's inlines, too.

my dd has been on skates since she was 5. she and her friends agree that quads are easier to learn on, however inlines are easier to find. i'd reccommend adjustable size skates, they'll last longer. no need to pay too much for the first pair, in case she doesn't take to them. :)

we bought these for DSD for her 7th birthday. THey were a great hit and best of all, are size adjustable so she wont outgrow them in 2 seconds flat like she does her shoes!
