Who stocks children's ipanema flip flops?

My local store has sold out, the delivery charge for ordering on line is huge and I refuse to pay it but I would really like to get DD another pair as they are great for the beach and round the pool etc and seem to be the only pair with a big of stability and that don't give her any blisters (she's only 5 with a size 10).

Does anyone know where else sells them please?

TIA and apologies for that extremely long first sentence

Hi - sorry to hijack your thread - was wondering how your holiday was at sands resort as considering going? Thanks

mckenzie · 03/08/2010 17:19

no worries about hijacking but we don't go until August 11th. I can let you know of course on our return if that's not too late for you.

ooh might see you there then as we will be going then or following week if we go.

mckenzie · 03/08/2010 22:08

You'll recognise me easily enough as I'll be the mum looking like a 'billy-no-mates' every evening and crying if she can't get her children into a club just for one hour a day so that she can go for a run and have some peace!

no you are seriously confusing yourself with me!

we went abroad to a Kinderhotel - do you think my children would go into the club? you got it

notsleepingthrough · 04/08/2010 12:14

ok I blame you - we have just booked it! aahhhhhhhhhhh![can you tell we don't go one holiday very often emoticon]

notsleepingthrough · 04/08/2010 12:16

also just seen that you went t willows farm so you are near us. Shame you will be back before we go - just say nice things when you get back!

mckenzie · 04/08/2010 12:39

when do you go?

If I have any left over 'stuff' (buckets and spades etc) I'll leave them for you at reception and you'll have to be brave enough to ask for a parcel for Mrs Notsleepingthrough

i think it is the 30th? need to check - that would be so funny. did you book d b and b or b and b. Have you got any idea what to do round there - we know nothing so need to read up on it all.

notsleepingthrough · 04/08/2010 14:57

oops I meant 20th

mckenzie · 04/08/2010 18:16

we booked dinner, b and b. I want it to be as stress free as possible as I'll be there without DH and although i will be bored of the menu choices after 3 days, at least I haven't got to worry about where are we going to eat tonight!

From memory (we went there 5 years ago), Newquay is only a short drive away, Fowey is definitely worth a visit and there is a festival on there, starting 13th August so you might miss it I guess but worth checking.
The beach is just down the hill and across the road (5 mins on the way there if I remember, a bit longer on the way home as it's up hill with tired children etc). We definitely visited a place a tad like Willows farm the name of which i have forgotten but will try and find it and I seem to remember that you paid for one visit but could return during the next 7 days for free. We also did a train ride in Newquay I think and went to the zoo.
Have you been on the Cornwall Tourism website? Or do a post and ask the locals on Mumsnet - always the best option i think. I took the dcs to IOW for a week without DH and the whole itinery was thanks to Mumsnet suggestions and we had a fantastic time!

mckenzie do come and tell me what it was like? I think you might be back on the 18th?

mckenzie · 15/08/2010 18:33

I just typed you the longest message ever about this place and then knocked some random key accidently and lost if all!!!!!

This version might be shorter as i'm running out of time.

We are having a FAB time.
Beaches to check out - Porth, main beach here, walking distance, rock pools etc, toilset and cafe on far side. Quite crowded.
Whipsiderry (the best!!) shorter walk but down lots and lots of steps (hand rail at ttwo levels). Lots of rock pools and caves (check the tides with reception) and beautiful sand and sea. Not crowded at all but no toilets (except the caves) and no cafe etc. Great great place though. Another beach whose name has just escaped me, 5 mins drive away, has activit centre on it so busy but nice toilets, nice cafe and lmore to watch and keep us adults entertained. All the beaches get windy even if sun is out if you are not in cove etc.

Surf shack here at Sands where you can borrow wind breaks, buckets and spades, wet suits and surf boards (wind breaks and buckets etc are definitely free, not sure about surf boards).

We've bought lunch from bakers in Porth and lkept tomorrow's sandwiches in fridge. Also SSpar in Porth for crisps and snacks if you dont bring thm with you. Water in restaurant doesn't taste very nice - ask your waitress to get it from the bar or get it yourself before sitting down.

Food is fab, staff are as lovely and helpful as I remember.

anything else youwanted to know particularly just ask. DCs have both enjoyed the clubs, outdoor stuff to play on is good (lots of new stuff since I was here last). Indoor pool gets crowded at times, ourtdoor pool is cold first thing but warms up nicely during day.
Do bring your sweatshirts.

Mck

thanks so much - keep it coming - getting v excited here. Have you found anywhere to buy nets to go pool dipping (a friend said to me we should try this)? So the food is good - We had n?t booked the dinner option but if you think it is good enough and won?t get coring we will ? I was just a bit worried it would be like school dinners.

goingbacktowork · 15/08/2010 20:54

oh yes - how old are your children and what do they actually do in the kids club? Thanks

mckenzie · 17/08/2010 18:54

DS is 9 and he is in a club for 8-12 where he can come and go as he pleases. They do quizes, go on e outdoor equipment, bouncy castle, play golf, play cards, wii.
DD is 5 and she is in teh Adventurers club for 4-8 year old. They have a room rather like a small pre-school I guess and they are free to do painting, reading, dressing up, making things and tehn they also have vists from the zoo, from the Reef Aquarium (todays one, massize crabs!!), and other things. There is also a club for under 2s and one for 2-4 year olds. My wo are friendly with some other children and the lad is 7 and he isn't a big fan of the kids club apparently (I can undrstand that, I think it is geared up abit for for the 4-6 age group from what I've seen.

We have mainly eaten at 7, the main sitting where they do adults and childrens menu and it has been delicious!!! The childrens te is earlier and is okay certainly and they are very willing to get versions off (the night we went one of the options was macaroni cheese but we just asked for plain pasta and that was no problem. I'm often asking for extra veg, a dish but with different potato choice or something and it has always been met with a "no problem".
And the desserts are FAB!!!
