DH wants a Graco

DH are kinda at loggerheads over what pushchair to get the new baby.

He really likes the look of Gracos but I think that they are really plasticy and poorly made. Also I want to get a Buggyboard for DD and I think that would be easier with something like a Techno XT.

But anyway, are Graco pushchairs any good or am I being rightfully predjudice?

I have a Maclaren Techno XT (2002 model) for my soon-to-be-1 DD. Having had an enormous M&P 3in1, another enormous 'bouncy' chassis Cossatto 2in1, a mothercare samba stroller and an M&P Pliko in the last 16 months, I can safely say that the Maclaren has been the best thing for our DD so far.

The big M&P 3in1 was great for the first few months as it was a proper pram (carrycot etc) and was really cosy (ideal for an autumn/winter baby), but the Pliko was awful (dodgy folding mechansim and crappy shopping basket). The maclaren works for us as it is cosy, roomy and easy to push (ideal for me as a bit of a weakling !).

One of my closest friends has a Graco Mirage which has been their one and only buggy since their DD was born 8 months ago. I have to admit to thinking that it looked a bit cheap and plasticky but it seems to have stood the test of time fairly well. I will say that the seat does look a bit small for a toddler of 12 months+ and so probably woudn't be as comfy as the maclaren when nipper gets a bit older. The seat on her mirage only has 2 seat positions which just isn't enough for a baby who is not sleeping but is not yet old enough to sit bolt upright, my friend has to bunch the fabric up behind the seat to try and 'invent' an extra back rest position. Also her DH complains that the handles are too low (he's 6ft) and he covets my maclaren 'cos it has nice 'tall' adjustable handles

Sorry I ranted on a bit there.....
