Seriously considering having one put onto our house as an extra living/family/play/garden type room.
Just wondered if they are worth having and how much roughly they cost. We are considering buying one from B&Q/Wickes and getting someone to install.
TIA

We ended up paying about £13k for ours (about 4x4 mtrs) but I remember out "top quote" was 322k and was for a smaller spec too!!

I don't know if anyone has found this, but we were put off of a tinted roof. It was mentioned about making the adjacent room very dark and gloomy. I must admit, on a dull day even with our clear roof, it does make a difference, so now I can just pull back a few roof blinds.

Oh dear, my fingers have turned to jelly at the thought of all that money! That should be £22 k.

Best thing we had done was to add a conservatory, we have a 3x5m one. Cost £14,000 last year from a conservatory company, this included all the building, electrics and to have the floor tiled, we also have underfloor heating which is lovely. Had it done in February, so havent gone through an entire winter yet but was lovely and cosy in Feb. We dont have air con, we have quite a shady garden and it wasnt too hot this summer. We use it as a playroom and it is so nice to have somewhere to put all the toys.
