something to make the Urban Detour 3 wheeler a bit moe cosy for DD

I'm thinking of using my old Mothercare Urban Detour 3 wheeler for 5 month old DD as she no longer wants to be laying down in the pram but the Maclaren Techno XT that I've been using for the last few weeks is getting on my nerves. It's great for lifting in and out of the boot but the pavements where I live are poor and the bumbp ride, although not seeming to bother DD, rattles up my arms to my shoulders. It's also too flimsy and I only need to have a tiny bag on the bag for it to seem like it will tip up which makes me very nervous.

So, what can I put inside the 3 wheeler just to make it a bit more cosy for DD as she does seem so tiny in it although the manufacturers say that the pushchair is suitable from birth.

Any ideas?

TIA

sheepskin thingy?

I had a buggy snuggle and then sheepskin inside that for ds from 3 months...it was autumn though...maybe just the sheepskin, like Misdee says?

mckenzie, I have a mamas and papas cosytoes that you can zip the top off, I've just bought a new buggy with cosy toes off MN for sale as my old one is broken, but the cosytoes from the broken buggy is ok. Let me know if you'd be interested. It is grey in colour.

I bought a snuggly tots they have a website and you can choose colors and design. It all arrived within a couple of days and did the trick for DS. Have a look at \link{http://snugglytots.co.uk}

This comes with a wooly liner (sheepskin style) that can be used seperately. Or a headhugger , although she may already be too old for that. There's one on this page near the bottom that looks quite large.

first of all, my apologies for the dreadful typing in the earlier message. DS was climbing all over me at the time but really, that's no excuse for quite so many mistakes.

Some of these items are lovely but are more I think for use in the colder weather. I just wanted something to make the area seem smaller I guess as DS just looks so lost in the 3 wheeler. Not that she seems to mind but....

I think sheepskin liners are ok even in warm weather as the child is just sitting on it rather than in it.

misdee · 24/08/2005 20:32

sheepskin liners keep babies cool in summer dont they?

mckenzie · 24/08/2005 20:34

okay, I didn't know that, sorry.

jojo maman bebe do a lovely total body support which is sheepskin on one side, and terry on the other depending on the weather. i use it on my 4 month old to help her gain some posture and keep her more cosy in her pushchair. she looks lost without it. it cost around £12 i think. good luck !

mckenzie · 25/08/2005 19:16

thanks mapleleaf, seen it on their website and it looks lovely but how long do you think it will last an average baby (if there is such a thing!)?
