Is my moby wrap too tight?

Hi all, i'm new to this forum, i'll probably be on here quite a lot! I have a 4 week old baby, and I'm feeling pretty anxious about a few things, to say the least! My baby cries most of the times we put her down. I've not been able to try any wraps till now as i had a cesarian. She's about 12lbs already, and keep slipping down in the moby wrap. I've tried tying it tighter, which works, she sleeps and slips down less, but i'm really scared i'm tying it too tight and this being bad for her circulation. Also the top of it covers her head to support it,but i'm concerned she's getting enough air..? Any advice appreciated. Thanku xx

Hi just to say how lucky r u, I'm really broody at the moment but alas I've had my time and two babies and I guess I am a bit out of the loop ie "moby wrap" but....I can only go on my own experience, my first baby had no bedtime routine hence she's now 11 and she still doesn't go to bed and drives us all nuts, with my second baby routine was the key, bath at 5:30 bottle then bed at 6:00 feed again at 11 & change then 2 & change then 6.
Put them to sleep on their backs, and place them in the crib so that their feet nearly touch the bottom of it, that way they can't wiggle their way down under the covers and suffocate.
With it being summer just one or the other babygrow or vest with sleeves, place arms ontop of the sheet(s) depending on how hot your bedroom is, maybe add a blanket in the middle of the night on the 2 oclock feed, but make sure that the sheet(s) are quite tight and tucked in around the mattress. Turn off all lights only have a very dim light on to feed in the middle of the night, black out curtains help in the summer. Also a good tip was don't talk to your baby in the night when they wake, best to just snuggle and feed but don't start any conversation otherwise they get the wrong message and start to wake up for attention/play and won't settle back down to sleep. Try this routine, it doesn't last long maybe four or five months and then hopefully like mine your baby will sleep through from 11 til 6.
All the best & remember to treasure this special time, they grow all too quickly.

You can't make a sling too tight. honest. the tighter you get the Moby, the better. if fact, you should be able to tighten it and go a little hop and they won't move. Tie her in an upright position (don't try to stretch out her legs) and high enough to kiss her head by just lowering your own.

imagine how tight it was in the womb at term? they like it tight up next to you. Just make sure that her back is straight and that her chin is not tucked in close to her chest. Head tilted back a bit and to the side is great. It keeps her airway open.

if you go to 'Products' there is a dedicated 'Slings and Backpacks' board.
