Bought this today and it is wonderful.

It is expensive, I know, but our house seems to retain heat like no other and is absolutely unbearable at the minute. I work from home and was really struggling as it was so hot but am actually looking forward to work tomorrow as I will be in a lovely, cool environment.

I just wish we had bought it weeks ago.

We have a very old and ugly one that was being skipped on one of DH's jobs.

We love love love for about 17 nights a year, but it is bloody unsightly and too heavy to move from the landing for the rest of the time.

Is yours heavy?

we bought one the other week and my dh took it back as it was so noisy and the hose didn't reach out of the window

We have something similar, which was bought at DH's insistence - he's always too hot. Huge and too heavy to really move so we use it for a couple of weeks a year and the rest of the time it's an eyesore in the corner of our bedroom. Tis lovely when the weather is this hot and sticky though.

Yes it is heavy and unsightly but I hate the heat so much I am willing to put up with that. The hose is about 150cm so you need easy access to a window for it.

It is very manoeuverable on its wheels so could be out anywhere downstairs but it's about 35kg so not going to be able to move it upstairs easily.

It is not too noisy - much quieter than the fans we were using and even my dh who was very resistant to buying it, is pleased with it. I am at the age where I always seem to be hot anyway so I'm hoping it will make the rest if the summer bearable.

We have one, its a delonghi. Yes a bit noisy but I can sleep through noise not heat.

We tend to cool the upstairs in the day, I put it in each of the boys bedrooms for 20 mins before bedtime and then shut their doors to retain the coolness.

We then leave it running in our bedroom with the door open. Usually by the time we go to bed the room is cool so we don't have to leave it switched on.

TOP TIP, open your loft hatch and leave it open if you can, that way the heat doesn't just stop upstairs and your landing will be cooler!

Yep - Fizzy we have the vent going up into the loft.

Warm air into loft from a/c and from naturally rising. Saves having it near a window - if you are worried about having a window open.

Win win situation.
