Bouyancy devices

Can anyone offer any advice on a good brand of armbands? DS is 15 months and adores swimming. I have been taking him to parent/child lessons since 4 months. He wears the armbands provided and is perfectly bouyant on his own. Occasionally he tips over but knows how to right himself.

However I also have 0 - 18 month Mothercare armbands(blue with 2 air compartments and dolphin picture). These do not seem to have anything like the same bouyancy however hard they are blown up (and I have enlisted DH's help here). So two questions where can I get some better ones? And why are they only 0 -18 months? Is it a weight thing because DS is heavy and might weigh about the same as the average 18 month old?

Booza- I was about to ask the same question.... What is the best "thing" for a 10 months old and a 2 1/2 yo who have never been into a pool (this is their grand parent's pool where there is no baby shallow end)... what should I use ????

pupuce, dd has never been swimming and we are about to start (shes 2.5). Her childminder highly recommended the polyotter float suit (similar from Jojomamanbebe.com) as it holds them in the correct position for swimming.

Dd's Early Learning Centre armbands say they are for 1-6 year olds. I can well believe it as I hardly have to put any air in them for her to float quite happily (she's a skinny 2.5 y.o).
I've also just got her a Floaties 'swim mate' which is a kind of swimsuit thing that has blow-up bits front & back but not tried it yet.

Pupuce, when she was a baby we got her one of those Floaties seat things which she absolutely loved because she could splash her hands in the water and see everything around her. For holidays we also took a blow-up boat and a paddling pool
