Do you talk about sex with friends?

Following on from a message on my other thread, I was wondering how many of you can talk openly about sex with friends. I definitely cant, it’s quite taboo amongst my friends. I am Indian, as are lots of my closest friends, so wonder if it’s our upbringing? It’s probably the main reason I’ve started posting here, peri sex surge, lots of disrupted thoughts, and no one I can talk to about it. I guess anonymity here helps us be more open and I’ve enjoyed some very honest frank conversations over the past few months

I'm south asian, and talk about sex liberally with my close friends (some south asian, others not, mostly women, but also two gay men). Nothing taboo about it at all. I do preserve my partner's privacy though (based on his comfort levels).

I used to when I was younger but I have been with DH for 28 years and my closest friends are also likely to sit round the dinner table with him from time to time. I wouldn’t just be discussing my sex life, I would be discussing his and he is entitled to his privacy. Luckily we have a good sex life, probably better described as efficient rather than exciting, but I don’t have problems or dilemmas these days like I did in my 20s.

There is only one friend i will talk openly about sex with but we have been best friends for years and i can say absolutely anything to her and she won't bat an eyelid.

I do with my oldest friend. She is also my wifes best friend and who introduced us 20 years ago.
She has been more than family to me for as long as I can remember. Even my kids found it hard to accept that she wasnt my sister when they were old enough to understand. And her husband is also one of my best friends. Both her husband and my wife have just accepted that there are no barriers when we talk.
I wouldn't talk about it with anyone else though.

And it has been really helpful to both of us having someone of the opposite sex who you can ask advice from or talk to and get that other perspective.

I have never had a problem talking about sex, I talk about sex with my friends and work colleagues openly. Two friends are divorced and they tell me about their sexual lives in detail. My DH has always talked about sex with his friends l. I've never been embarrassed about sex talking or desire for it.

I get the friends bit, but work colleagues???????

Yes!!!! Why not? She's very happy to discuss her sex life with me , we get on great and she goes into detail about . Maybe her upbringing in another country and mine that taught us sex isn't to be ashamed of makes us different.

I may do occasionally with one or two close girlfriends. I do have one friend and a work colleague who talk about their sex lives a lot though, including all the gory details - to the point I can barely look my work colleagues boyfriend in the eye anymore. He's gorgeous though, so it can be fun to hear the sorts of things he gets up to 😜
