How often do you have sex in your long term partnership? I’m age 57 post menopause.

I love my husband dearly but I just have never have had the lust for him . We are best friends, he is very handsome and sexy and really kind and patient.,

i am now suffering from me and f n d and really don’t have the energy or enjoy sex .
( never really have done it’s always felt uncomfortable. but in my youth obviously I did it in relationships I had the lust and excitement for, these never lasted)

is it ok to be married with no sex. and very little other relief for my husband . I don’t pleasure myself either I’m too tired and it just feels sordid.

he says he is happy, I talk about the guilt of not satisfying him a lot . He says I’m silly and he is fine with the occasional hand relief.
we have no children but I do have bad vaginal atrophy . However we have been together 30 yrs so 🤷‍♀️.
ultimately the question is is it ok to be married in a non penetrative relationship.

You have discussed it, he says he’s happy and he is fine. I don’t think you need to keep going over it or feeling guilty personally. Sounds like you’re on the same page and both happy 😊

If you're both on the same page, and both happy then I don't see any problem. It's your marriage and it's what works for you.

I personally value other connections above sex.

If you’re BOTH happy, it’s absolutely fine and nothing to do with anyone else.

The problems start if one of you isn’t happy, so if there is no issue then there’s nothing to worry about.

If you're both OK with that, fine.
There are plenty of women on MN who advocate ditching a DH if he's not into sex and the received wisdom is there are plenty of men who'd play away from home if their DW isn't.
Is it OK? That's upto you both, not us.

Ruggerlass · 13/05/2025 20:12

Of course it’s ok as long as you are both happy which it seems you are.

I think a lot of women post menopause go off sex.

For some men they can cope with this although they are few.

If you are both happy then crack on.

I am 61 and would be more than happy to never have sex again! I am not in a relationship but my impression is the majority of men prefer a supply at home.
