Safe Sex Outdoors

I've always wanted to try a bit of Al Fresco so I'm looking to plan ahead for the spring/summer.
How on earth do we go about it???
I don't want to be somewhere where people could stumble across us. It's not about that at all. But that leaves me stumped for ideas of where we could go outdoors that guarantees that much privacy.
Any woods I know of all have trails so it would be hard to go off track. I live near the beach but that's too public. As with parks, gardens and green spaces.
How do you like minded people do it? Or am I missing the point completely and people who do this do so with the risk of getting caught? We don't want to get arrested or offend anyone. We'd just really like to explore having fun outdoors. How can we do it safely?
(We live in the South by the coast if anyone has specific spots!)

I have been 'successful' in some outdoor sex - it is lovely.

I and my partners were quite 'outdoory' people already - walking, riding bikes out in the hills all the time. Gives opportunity and location knowledge. The further from people you are, the less likelihood of being found. This does mean dusting down some map reading or memories of places to visit.

Forests, overgrown areas and cornfields are great places. However one of my most memorable spots was behind a hedge and a tree - completely invisible from the empty country road we had been cycling on only a few metres away, and chosen as a picnic spot initially...we spent an hour or more.

One of the nicest moments was not full sex either - as someone said a nice flowy summer dress (no undressing went on) and a quiet spot behind a sunny wall in the Peak District can be wonderful...

I have headed out with intention of some sexy time, and also just found ourselves 'in the mood' on a warm sunny day...

Do be practical - a blanket can help if you don't want to stand, as can some clean up items or a condom to reduce the issue.

Once when I was a teenager I went for a walk with my brothers. We were crossing a cornfield on a footpath when I heard a strange noise that sounded to me like a donkey braying. I asked if my brothers had heard it and two heads popped up like meerkats about 5 yards away. We just laughed and carried walking.
