not sure where to go for help. For two months now I’ve been having problem on and off (few days on and few days off) with vaginal itch . There is no other symptoms (no smell, no discharge, no pain). I just done STI test today and waiting for results (expecting negative as I had only one protected sex about 4 months ago). But anyone any idea what it could be? Is it serious enough to be bothering GP?

Thrush or a change in washing powder?

Ifitaintgotnoswing · 18/09/2023 11:37

Possibly Lichen sclerosis
or as pp allergy to something

I’ve been using same washing powder for years. Also use loose cotton underwear since the issue started

I'm the same. I think personally it's related to perimenopausal hormonal changes. But it's doing my head in.

Certainly go to your GP. People can advise on here but very few are trained medics.

It might be the same brand, but formulations change.

Worth getting it checked out with the GP, also whilst you're there get them to check your hormone levels perhaps?

EarthSight · 22/09/2023 18:48

You need to get tested, but this could be a vaginal PH issue which could cause very mild bouts of thrush. Thrush isn't always severe and it could appear at certain times of your menstrual cycle.

Sometimes low oestrogen can cause issues. Might be best to get it checked.

This happened to me and I finally worked out I was using different loo roll and it irritated me

You need to get yourself checked out for Lichen Sclerosis as you can go on to developing cancer. Another of the signs would be whiteness of the skin down there. You would need a steroid cream and quite likely appointment with gynaecology.
