I watch a film every week with my friend. He is at his house, me at mine. We are both into BDSM, and started out watching BDSM movies, we ran out and started to watch other movies, mostly cult type classics.

We need some new ideas. Just for example, we started with Belle du Jour and then the Piano Teacher, The Night Porter, etc, we gave up when we tried to watch Justine, it was worse than a carry on movie.

Since then we've covered Being John Malkovich (one of my all time faves), Casablanca, Betty Blue, all the Tarantino movies. We are running out of ideas - we've watched over 100 movies and we need ideas. The sexier the better!

Just for info, we don't and never have had sex with each other, we just enjoy hanging out in our respective homes, commenting on the films via What's App as we watch.

Hit me with your sexiest films- the raunchier the better, preferably not Hollywood blockbuster type, I can't bear guns or car chases!

I need BFI subscription to get any decent Greenaway films. We tried to watch Repulsion this week, but I fell asleep (I'm on heavy painkillers for nerve pain) apparently it was "odd".

I've taken out the sun to BFI but he hasn't. Not sure why, it's less than renting four movies a week from Prime.

The Duke of Burgundy with Sidse Babse Knudsen from Borgen

Duke of Burgandy was fab. Nice and dark with an interesting twist around the question of who really holds the power in a Dom/sub relationship. I've watched it twice.

The Piano Teacher was particularly dark, the scene in the cloakroom with the pupil was quite disturbing.

The Night Porter was a Stockholm syndrome movie with the beautiful Dirk Bogarde.

Both great films but both rather on the disturbed side of dark sexuality rather than the enjoyment of sensation and playing with roles and power which is what fascinates both of us about BDSM.

I really loved Dangerous Liaisons, another not BDSM, but a wonderful story of a folie a deux and narcissism, and power.

I also love Dangerous Liaisons.

The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, and Don't Look Now: good films but very disturbing. Not tempted to rewatch either. Definitely not feelgood films.

Question to the OP, my wife and I have been exploring some bdsm after she first read 50 shades a while ago. We've watched the films a few times which always gets us both 'in the mood' but it gets a bit samey watching the same film over and agin. Are there any others of a similar theme you could suggest?

It is long movie, however it was not boring for me. I do not mind a slow film.

Yep - have seen it - a good film overall - very interesting director - I just thought that folk might be mistaking it for an erotic fest to get them into the mood.

The Korean film The Handmaiden is interesting.

We've watched the handmaiden, nymphomaniac, shame, none really hit our spot of being sexy, more studies of exploitation, abuse and addiction. Interesting but not sexy.

For the pp who asked for a movie to watch with husband after 50 shades (which we've not watched, on principle! The book was so not what bdsm is about that I could not bring myself to watch the film), try Secretary, it's funny and sexy.

care to expand on your thoughts on 50 shades the book (and hence anticipated film treatment) mx? am genuinely interested - i know it was very popular with women (the vast majority of the readers?) - even if many charity shops now seem to be awash with copies.

Sounds like you should just start watching ethical porn together.

We watched Bitter Moon tonight, we'd seen it before! But watched it again. Very dark, very long, interesting twist. The male character is a good study of men who discard women after worshipping them.
