Squirting......is this a real thing?

Or just another concept introduced by the porn industry. Pretty sure there was no such thing in the 80s & 90s. It's been proven it's just urine.

OP posts:
Thisismysexforumname · 25/03/2023 08:30

I have been with 2 women who were able to squirt and another woman who gushed when she came. It absolutely wasn't urine tho, it had a slightly silky texture and didnt smell anything like it.

Mermaidparades · 25/03/2023 08:33

The sensation of squirting feels very different to passing urine, too.

AbsolutePixels · 25/03/2023 08:53

It's urine predominantly, perhaps exclusively. The sensation is different because it's happening in a sexual context, usually with a lot of g spot stimulation, but the fluid is coming from the bladder and is more or less the same as urine. There may be small quantities of other lubricatory fluids from the urethra mixed in but it's basically wee.

The silky fluid referenced by the previous poster is probably vaginal/cervical discharge that has pooled in the vagina and been released in one go at orgasm due to a change in the woman's position (a bit like when you're on your period, you stand up and a lot of menstrual blood gushes out).

Mermaidparades · 25/03/2023 09:04

I think the volume of liquid voided from the Skene’s gland is usually referenced at around 50 ml, so that’s a fair amount.

AbsolutePixels · 25/03/2023 09:56

Men typically ejaculate up to 5ml of semen so 50ml seems a rather large amount to be released in one go. Perhaps 50ml is what is secreted in 24 hours, seems more likely especially as there is no bladder to store this quantity of fluid.

Also, where is the female ejaculatory tissue? Muscle and nerve tissue is extremely metabolically expensive. Men 'invest' in ejaculatory tissue because it serves a vital reproductive function, what's the purpose of female ejaculation and why is anatomically invisible?

It makes sense for women to secrete small quantities of fluid to form an immunological barrier at the opening of their urethra, but that's not really what we're discussing, is it?

I don't understand why people are so adverse to the idea that the gushing is urine. Just put a towel down and enjoy it!

MovingonfromMartin · 25/03/2023 09:59

I don't watch porn so it wasn't introduced to me at all. I certainly have no choice in the matter and hadn't a clue what was happening the first time it did, which was only recently. There have been a couple of threads on the subject. I've since done it a few times with varying volumes of liquid, and as this was all over the back seat of someone's car, any smell would have been highly noticeable. There wasn't one. Luckily the someone is quite happy to keep pressing the required buttons and drying out his seats!

MovingonfromMartin · 25/03/2023 10:00

......and doesn't care what liquid it is or where it came from

AbsolutePixels · 25/03/2023 10:07

When I've done it, it's been watery and smelled neutral, but then I keep myself well-hydrated. I've only done it on sheets, which have been laundered afterwards so it's never had the time to develop that old-urine ammonia smell.

I'm convinced it urine, both because of the anatomical/physiological factors and also the sensations that accompany it. When my g-spot receives firm pressure, I feel that I need to wee, if I ignore the urge it's pleasurable and there's a feeling of pressure that builds until I squirt.

AbsolutePixels · 25/03/2023 10:11

Ps. It annoys me how stuff to do with female sexuality gets framed in male terms, e.g. 'ejaculation'. It's almost like a form of penis envy, or as though we're not sexy and fun unless we do male stuff. I'm far more interested in how the womb behaves during sex, which is so under-discussed, rather than all this BS about female ejaculate.

MaryJean87 · 25/03/2023 10:35

It is real. I get it from G spot orgasms, either through certain sex positions or finger stimulation with pressure on my G spot. It's not wee, but it is different to the normal fluid that comes out during a clitoral orgasm, that usually has a creamy or sticky texture. It's watery and has been either clear or white with no smell at all. I read that it comes from something called the Skenes gland and that it can contain urine but that that is not the whole substance.

NCSexForum · 25/03/2023 10:39

Studies have shown fluid ejaculated from squirting is made of the same components as urine and comes from the urethra. Female ejaculate consists of a small amount of milky fluid which is released from either side of the urethra.

I am a total science geek and I find the body really fascinating, if you do too this is the seminal research into female ejaculation:
https://embryo.asu.edu/pages/female-ejaculation-case-study-1981-frank-addiego-edwin-g-belzer-jr-jill-comolli-william-moger

That’s from 1981, science has evolved massively since then.

This is a more recent article about squirting.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25545022/

If you don’t want to read the article, seven women had an ultrasound of the bladder before squirting which showed it to be full and after squirting the bladder remained empty. The contents were analysed and it contained the same components as urine so the conclusion was the substance was urine.
Regardless of what it is, if you enjoy it then keep doing it.

Nature and origin of "squirting" in female sexuality - PubMed

The present data based on ultrasonographic bladder monitoring and biochemical analyses indicate that squirting is essentially the involuntary emission of urine during sexual activity, although a marginal contribution of prostatic secretions to the emit...

Mermaidparades · 25/03/2023 14:12

@NCSexForum I know it’s from 1981, that’s why I called it seminal. The article discusses up to 2022 in the conclusion. But I will totally read your article too, I love a bit of evidence based research 🧐

AbsolutePixels · 25/03/2023 14:46

The poor lady in the 1981 case study had a bladder prolapse and involuntarily voided urine when she coughed, sneezed, jumped, etc. Circumstantially, it does appear likely that she was also voiding urine during intercourse.

Mermaidparades · 25/03/2023 14:50

@AbsolutePixels the authors stated that she resolved her urinary incontinence with Kegels, however the squirting persisted during sexual arousal.

Rieslinger · 25/03/2023 14:55

I was planning on continuing to read a book on mushrooms but I've learned so much today, thank you all!

AbsolutePixels · 25/03/2023 14:55

Yes, but they also say that the 'ejaculation' started following childbirth, at the same time as the urinary incontinence. Also, she still had a bladder prolapse at the time that the study was carried out. Just seems like a bit of a coincidence.

Mermaidparades · 25/03/2023 15:02

@AbsolutePixels and obviously just having one subject isn’t a thorough paper. But her squirting did contain prostatic fluid. I really do find this interesting and I may have experimented on myself…I have a white bathtub, and I may have lay down in the empty bath and made myself squirt in order to examine the fluid…🤣 I didn’t have proper diagnostic tools but I found squirt to be different to urine. Thank fuck MN is anonymous 🙏

Omg @Mermaidparades that's amazing! I love your dedication to science! 👏👏

@MovingonfromMartin I’m waiting for my Nobel prize 🤣

Oh the celebrations we could have for that!

Mermaidparades · 25/03/2023 18:19

You’re hilarious 😆

Opentooffers · 26/03/2023 02:11

Definitely not urine, silky texture with no smell. I doubt it's something that could be effectively researched as the people who'd be up for it are probably ones who like to claim it happens every time, which I doubt is likely its more of an occasional thing. So they are the ones who are actually producing urine leaks and mistaking it if it happens every time - not good examples to use. The genuine ones would know that it's pointless to enter research on it because it's not a thing that happens on demand, therefore, I'd be sceptical about any claimed research findings as it doesn't make sense that it could be effectively done.
Is sex with a full bladder normal anyway? That's just asking for leaks rather than a squirt.

Estherpologist · 27/03/2023 06:42

The discussion seems to be focusing on the fluid "ejaculated", but what does the experience feel like.

I know there's lots of info on how to learn to do it, but what feels so good about it that you'd want to learn to do it? Is it like a clitoral orgasm, a g-spot orgasm, does he feel like peeing? Does it actually feel physically good, or is it mainly a psychological pleasure?
