Stinging when having sex

I thought it was an allergy to condoms, but I still have a stinging sensation with latex free ones.
Now I am using depo, and no condoms, it's still happening. No infection and I have had a recent hysterscopy which if there was something obvious I'm sure they'd have said?
Does anyone know if having fibroids and polyps can cause this sort of stinging? It's a bit like when I have a urine infection but it doesn't sting all the time, and usually only in certain positions, and especially at the start. We do use kyjelly.

I dont think we're allowed to give medical advice but if we are is it thrush?

When I have thrush sex stings really badly, i use the pessaries as that is the only thing that works for me.

I'll get something & see if it helps. I don't think it is, but it is the easiest thing to rule out. Thank you.

Are you near / after the menopause? Low oestrogen levels can cause this. Oestrogen pessaries or cream would help - you'd need to ask your GP.

I'm 49 and probably am peri. I am having Zoladex injections in preparation for a myomectomy and ablation somewhen this year. I've had two so far, and as they stop the ovaries from working, I guess this would be a side affect? I have been given some hrt pills to take if any menopausal symptoms get too much. I'll have a read and see if this is something they might help with. I'd not even thought that this could have been the cause.
I have had this stinging on and off for a few years and always thought it was a latex allergy.

@longtompot it’s probably the Zoladex causing your problems. As you probably know, they use it in women to put you into an artificial menopause in preparation for your surgery. This could then be causing low oestrogen levels and vaginal dryness. Ask your Dr/GP about it - maybe something like Sylk or Replens might help.

This sounds like genito urinary syndrome of menopause. Sylk might do the job but you could need a local oestrogen cream or pessary.
