Sex and cervical erosion?

Since the end of July I've been bleeding after sex, I had my last smear test at the end of July (just before the bleeding started) so wondering the nurse triggered the bleeding. Anyway, I've seen the GP and he was fab, wanted me to come back to see the nurse for swabs and a good look at my cervix. I saw the nurse and it seems I have a 'large ectropion' on my cervix. Sex is not painful, I just get a bit of bleeding for a few hours afterwards.

She didn't say anything about sex and I can't find an answer on Google. Should I abstain until it's sorted, or is it okay to carry on?

Ask for a gynae referral. I had mine treated with silver nitrate. Mildly uncomfortable/nippy for a day or so after but did the trick. Had to abstain for a few weeks after to allow it to heal and it seems to have done the trick. No reason to abstain in the meantime, although mine got worse over a few months until I saw the gynaecologist.

Hm, I have cervical erosion but never experienced any bleeding.
It was picked up on a smear.
I think I'd be inclined to ask for another smear and/or a gynaecologist referral

My GP has referred me for a pelvic scan and then possibly a colposcopy, so I'm being well looked after! I have a follow up appointment with him next week when my swab results should be back.

Cervical ectropion can be perfectly normal so long as your smear was normal and swabs clear it’s nothing to worry about about and no reason to stop having sex. They don’t treat them often in the UK unless they are very troublesome and will just go away in their own. The smear hasn’t caused it.

I've had two cervical erosions, both caused by the pill. I had both frozen out with a sort of frozen dildo thing that they put up you, freezes onto the ectropian after a minute or two, and then they pull out, pulling the ectropian off. This was about 15 years ago, and was pretty brutal. But I went through with it because it was like a scene out of a horror movie after sex with the ectropians, with blood soaked towels etc. I since moved off the pill, obviously, moved onto other forms of contraception and no problems ever since. If you are not bleeding massively during/after sex, it might be worth leaving it.
