Experiences with viagra

So I think it might be time for us to try this, but was wanting to hear others experiences with Viagra. Has it helped boost confidence in not losing erections, lasting longer etc?

I don't know if its boosted confidence but it does help, he does lose it sometimes still but it comes straight back rather than without it where it can be over or take time to return, he lasts longer until he finishes then it goes away. Smile

I have been a user of Viagra for about 15 years and would thoroughly recommend the drug. My erections are really strong and hard; oddly enough, this means that I can last longer and that when I do orgasm it can be fantastic.

For me the only downside is that the stomach needs to be empty for the drug to be as effective as it can be. I find that I cannot take food for at least six hours before I take a pill. This means that I often wake up early, take a tablet, and go back to bed with a couple of cups of coffee while waiting for it to take effect. Normally, it is about 45 minutes before the full effect is felt - that gives plenty of time for foreplay. It just means that more planning is needed and the loss of spontaneity is a small price to pay.

I did experience mild headaches when I first began taking Viagra, but this has minimised over the years and can always be counteracted by a Paracetamol, or two.

The food issue has seen me experiment with Cialis. It isn't anywhere near as reliant on an empty stomach and can last up to 36 hours, depending on the dose taken. The effect on my erections isn't as profound as Viagra though, so that remains my drug of choice when we need to play.

Best wishes.

I use it occasionaly due to a medical condition. I can manage without it but find sex more satisfactory when I use it. Contrary to the myths and and jokes about it it does not give you erections but when sexually stimulated in the usual way it improves the erection and helps to maintain it. The only side efects I get are an occasional headache and a delay in reaching the climax which can be a mixed blessing.

Thanks for the replies, it sounds promising!

I'm not sure I need it, but as I'm nearer 60 than 50, I take it as a "safety blanket". Never experienced any bad effects, and usually take one before food, but have also taken them after - can't say I've seen any difference.

I find it allows me to have more than one erection in a "session", but I don't seem to last any longer (the first time around). I have found condoms that have a numbing agent in them help with that problem.

You can get 50mg over the counter, and stronger doses on prescription. Your GP may also prescribe Calais, but possibly only as a private patient.

Joey7t8 · 25/08/2019 14:07

I don’t suffer from erectile dysfunction, but experiment with it every now and then since it became available over the counter last year. The effects are quite something: I can have 3-4 orgasms in a single session without losing an erection, and they are solid! My partner has also tried taking one before sex and reckons it improves her sexual response as well. Can definitely recommend!

Tiger785 · 29/09/2019 17:52

I've bought one from a mate who has them diabetes. I've had it a while and still not used it, I was thinking of cutting it in half, will I still notice a difference (I don't have problems getting hard just want to last longer I'm 44 and takes around 40min to be ready for round 2)

JIMMI85 · 19/10/2024 10:45

I have used both Viagra and cialis - I found Cialis to be far better as it stays in the system for 36 hours and therefore little to no pm bong is needed.

I would also suggest taking the 5mg or 10mg daily cialis so it’s always In your system. I found the side effects less than Viagra but remember everyone is different

i would suggest getting the generic brands ( sildenafil and tadifinal ) as they are half the cost.

TomorrowNeverKnows · 19/10/2024 14:19

I agree with all the comments- Viagra is by far the best for fulness of the erection but for me the headaches were so bad I couldn't get out of bed. The own brand "blue pill" versions are faster to react but not as full as viagra and don't give me a headache.

Cialis/Tadalafil also good and very easy to get an election for over a day after taking it.

Does it boost confidence- Yes, Viagra making it so stiff and full was an ego boost. The others it's just faster more reliable erections.

Does it last longer- No, in fact I found Cialis and Tadalafil sensitised and made control harder but not a problem as its possible to go again straight after. This is the drawback especially if a high sex drive in that you do need a full free day after taking it. I've been caught out with a boner in a supermarket and would never consider taking it if having to lie by a pool etc.

Go for it and try!!

Given PDE5’s only work when you are sexually aroused , I’m curious to know what turns you on in the supermarket….😂

She put her hand in my back pocket and squeezed my bum....something that wouldn't normally trigger an erection but shows how it doesn't need much to get aroused when on Tadalafil and this was about 18 hours after taking it following a night and morning of sex!

Something worth bearing in mind is that Viagra works for only about two thirds of men who take it. It is by no means the universal cure for ED that lots of people seem to believe. Another fact to note is that for those who find that it works, over a period of about three years, 25% will develop a tolerance to it that means their regular dose no longer has the desired effect.

beeloubee · 20/10/2024 15:04

Get him to look onto focused shockwave therapy and castor oil

I think the percentage for success is far lower than it should be because of a lack of knowledge about the drug and how it works. For example, not drinking alcohol prior to its use and not having fatty foods before taking it.

also, for those with phsycological ED or with severe generous leakage it won’t work anywhere near as well if not at all and in those scenarios injections would be better.

I ended up getting an implant , for anyone who has progressive ED, I’d highly recommend it!

Well, I'd forgotten all about this thread it's so old! We did try the Viagra but it didn't have much effect, so very disappointing. Due to health issues now we haven't had sex in over two years so it's definitely not needed now 😞

Nightow- viagra worked great for many years but went very weak after it became available over the counter. Not sure why this happened unless manufacturers decided to dilute the strength to increase profits. Not even 200 mgs has any effect.

HardyLeader · 21/01/2025 06:03

Hi there! I've had a very positive experience with Viagra (Sildenafil) due to erectile issues, and I can confidently say that it truly works and helps a lot. Not only does Viagra bring everything back to how it used to work, but it actually allows me to last longer during intimate moments, which means we don’t have to stop as quickly.

As for side effects, yes, they're known to exist, but in my experience, they’re typically minor and don’t last long. A slightly flushed face or a mild nasal congestion really isn’t a big deal compared to the benefits Viagra offers.

I’ve also tried Cialis (Tadalafil), which lasts up to 36 hours, but the effect wasn’t as strong as Viagra’s, and it didn’t fully meet my needs. That’s why Viagra works perfectly for both me and my wife.

One important note: If you decide to try Viagra, make sure you’re getting high-quality pills. Ideally, get them prescribed by a doctor. But if, like me, you’re not a fan of going through prescriptions, I recommend using only trusted online pharmacies. I personally order high-quality Viagra from health-delivery24.com/buy-viagra-uk.html.

Good luck! 😉

Viagra is available in Boots over the counter - no prescription needed. You just need to fill in a form first time to show you don't have certain medical conditions. If you ask for the generic viagra it's a bit cheaper.

Some of my colleagues tell me that it can make it difficult for some men to orgasm but I don't think that will usually happen if at all.

Bionicman · 21/01/2025 08:50

Viagra is great for some, for some it won't have any great benefit and a select few will have severe side effects.

PDE5's lower blood pressure, so anyone who already suffers from low blood pressure or who take beta blockers, should be cautious.

Always start with a low dose, no more than 50mg and increase dosage if there are no effects.

PDE5's ONLY work when there is no venous leak, ie, they only help with blood flowing into the penis, they will not work if blood flows out quicker than it flows in.

You need to be sexually aroused, they do NOT make a man last longer, but some men can stay hard even after they orgasm.

Headaches, blurred vision, blue vision, nauseous and a increased heartbeat are all common side effects.

I preferred Cialis, less side effects and the effects last longer if not quite as potent.

Yes, it can really help, especially when the main problem is anxiety about losing an erection. From what I’ve seen with my partner and from friends who have talked about it, a lot of the issue is the pressure men feel during sex — once they worry about losing it, it often becomes a self-fulfilling thing. Medication like Viagra improves blood flow, so it becomes much easier to get and keep a firm erection, and that alone often boosts confidence because the body actually responds when you want it to.

My husband and I had a similar situation a while ago. Stress and performance anxiety started affecting him, and it slowly began to affect our intimacy too. We decided to try Viagra, and honestly it became a bit of a lifesaver for us. It works by improving blood circulation to the penis, so erections are stronger and easier to maintain, and because of that he stopped worrying so much about “losing it.” That change alone made sex feel natural and relaxed again, which really helped our relationship as well — when that pressure disappears, intimacy comes back naturally. My only advice is to make sure you use good quality Viagra. My husband usually orders it here 👉 veruva.biz/viagra-sildenafil – and we’ve always been very happy with the results. 💜

People obviously haven't read my post from 2024, as I have ongoing health issues we haven't had sex for almost four years so Viagra is definitely not needed now.

To be fair nobody probably remembers that post being that it was two years ago.

I've had mixed experiences with Sildenafil. On the one hand - guaranteed erection, which takes all the performance anxiety out of it and lets me relax and enjoy. On the other side - the harder I am, the less sensitivity I have, to the point where it's almost numb even when I orgasm. It's kept our sex life going, which is a good thing, and while DW is happy I do feel I'm missing out. I've tried taking half a tablet, but that didn't really make much difference. Might try Cialis as an alternative to see if that makes any difference. Curious if anyone else has had a similar experience?
