Dc3 is 4 months old. He was a big baby. My pelvic floor is ruined. I can hold pee a bit, but fart like a horse without warning and tampons don't stay in properly and quickly become painful. Haven't had sex with du yet and dreading it. Please tell me there is hope and share your tips! I find kegels hard to do and to remember to do.

I saw my GP and got a referral to an NHS women's health physio. After just 2 sessions I had a good improvement in symptoms (turns out I, like many others, wasn't doing my pelvic floor exercises efficiently). I still have a prolapse, but it doesn't annoy me enough yet to go for surgery, so that is on the back burner for the time being.

How long after your youngest child did you get a referral? I mentioned it to gp, who more or less shrugged sympathetic shoulders. Thanks for replying!

There is hope! I had a prolapse in my last pregnancy (DS2 who is now 18mo).

I barely think of it any more. The first few months were horrendous and then it just got better. I feel normal now. I use a moon cup and sex is fine. I was told not to exercise at all for the first 6 months but now I do yoga, Pilates and I run. I am rubbish at remembering kiegels too.

Buy the 'squeezy' app which is the NHS pelvic floor app- gives you reminders and is really great.
Keep harassing your GP, you can get a referral to a pelvic physiotherapist specialist, they can help too.
Don't give up.
You can make it better.
I really struggled, and am on the road to recovery now. It takes time and commitment and there are no quick fixes.
I still dread getting a sneezy cold, but I can run now!

Goosegettingfat - my youngest was 11 months when I finally got the courage to see GP. Referrals (physio and gynaecologist) came through pretty quickly.

The Squeezy app is really helpful and super cheap.

Get a referral to a pelvic floor unit to be assessed for prolapse.

I've never been pregnant, but suffered with multi-compartment prolapses which I had part one of surgical repairs earlier this year and now going for the 2nd lot. Best to get it ruled out before you spend any money of pelvic floor devices and the like.

Go to Argos, get a Casio F 91 W wristwatch (about £7.50) switch on the hourly time signal. Every time it beeps do a few lifts. After a few days you will be doing lifts to the beeps without really thinking about it. Soon you will do lifts when you hear anything beep - great in supermarkets! This is how I got the full use of my pelvic floor back. I was as bad as you after surgery but I now end up doing my exercises every day because the beeping watch in my bumbag reminds me! Try it. It works.

Haha babyliss! Ok I'm giving it a go Grin

Squeezy app really helped me within a couple of weeks and I thought I'd lost all tone forever.
