I have no problem with it, but find i ignore it as im boring in my dotage, very much been there done that sort of topic for me. Its a bit like the early development topics, not relevant to me so i don't read them. You don't have to read it.

I also don't think it will be inhabited by the hairy of hand, they get their kicks through sexualising the general topics i reckon. A good general and open discussion of sex isn't going to get the pervs going.

What's not to like? I think it's good that we can discuss sex on MN. Some of the threads are a bit weird but if i don't like the title I don't read it.

I agree with OP.
It's kind of flasher-y. I can never now unsee/unread that thread (full of blokes) about the woman who was going to meet some guy for the weekend and needed us-- the MNers- to reassure her anal sex was fine.
Agree with the person who said, why should I have to bother my arse hiding this topic on here when 99.9% of the Internet is porn with plenty of advice on anal sex. This used to be a tiny haven. No more, it seems.

Why should you have to bother hiding the section? Because you are the ones complaining about it and you shouldn't be able to tell other people what subject matters are and are not suitable for this site.
The reason it was given its own section is to so that it could be hidden from the people who objected to it, whilst allowing those who did want it, to be able to talk without being complained about.

The Daily Mail. The Sun. The Guardian. I don't like any of them.

I don't run up to their readers and tell them how wrong they must be to read such a publication. I don't write letters to the Editors telling them I don't like it. I just don't bother reading it.

I move on and read something I do like.

There are plenty of posts/threads I don't like on MN. I don't complain. I move on. Perhaps this tactic could work for you OP?

See, I preferred them in Chat or AIBU. I don't want to go looking for sex threads (nor indeed food ones, or home ones, or education ones...). I like stumbling across them.

I guess that's what Active Convos is for, though.
