Sex with late to bed teens in the house....

In a nutshell, teenage dd, who incidentally has the ears of a bat, now goes to bed at about the same time as dp & I most nights. Our house is small and open plan and we can all easily hold conversations with each other from our bedrooms, very sweet mostly but not great when the conversation between dp & I turns more 'adult'. Put plainly and as this is the sex topic, the only way we can have sex these days is in total silence in positions that require almost minimal movement. This is not us, we are huge fans of much louder, active sex, we're not talking Sting & Trudi style but I absolutely hate that we have to be so quiet it's still lovely and dp is great in the sack still but it all feels a bit passive.
Do we just have to just deal with this for the next few years? It's not the worlds biggest problem, I'm totally aware of that and I know we are lucky to still have such a good (but silent) sex life.

Short of shagging on the living room floor there's not much chance of mine noticing anything .... and even then he'd probably just complain my arse was blocking his view of the telly :-)

At least that's what I like to tell myself, the alternative is too cringeworthy

If it ever happens to me (unlikely) I’m definitely going to do that.

We usually have morning sex - starting that pattern when our three kids were tiny and I was too exhausted at night. Great way to start the day! DH is starting a new job 10 minutes from home so we may be getting more "Afternoon Delights".

We make use on downstairs. Although the dog isn't impressed and always asks to leave the room Kitchen side and table are handy and I agree we are fans of morning sex too. I just have to be quieter.

The kitchen table? With teens in the house?? The kitchen is our teens (and every other teen I know) second favourite place next to their rooms - it's the very last place we'd go at it

Not quite teens yet but a 10 yr old who doesn't sleep! So Hoover up against living room or kitchen door to keep it barred

At least - I am assuming - most of you have an upstairs & a downstairs, thereby facilitating you to have nookie on the sofa or something..

Barring the door of the kitchen with a hoover to 2 teens - wouldn't work here, they would demand to know why they couldn't get in . Am very impressed by your 10 year old - but give him a few years when he's wandering around the house at all hours

Mine aren't teens but we're having the same issue! They go to bed early enough but DD1 doesn't fall asleep for ages, I've seen us at it and I hear her flushing the loo - certainly puts a damper on things!

We have the same problem. Nobody ever tells you these problems when you have a baby.

DS1 is stopping at a friends tomorrow. I'm planning on a good sessions as the other 2 will be asleep by 9.

Yup, know the feeling as I have a 12 year old who can hear a pin drop! A couple of weeks ago, I sent him to the shop so me and DP could have a shag as we were gagging for it He was probably only gone about 2 minutes but we got a quickie in!!
