Any teachers or parents of Year 10 pupils? I have a longshot question!!

DD is in year 9, and i need to know if your children had any exams in October of their year 10. She thinks she may have a science one. I realise that all schools may have different timetables, any teachers out there who can help - are GCSE exams taken roughly at the same time in all schools?

Have a look on the school's website. Some schools provide very specific information about their GCSE courses.

If you were able to tell us which awarding body your school is using for Science (AQA, Edexcel, OCR), we could probably give you a better idea as to what to expect.

BTW, don't worry about not having an indepth understanding of each of your child's courses.

I teach Edexcel 360 Science and it took me 2 years to get my mind wrapped completely around it.

I don't fully understand my DS's AQA course, but I trust the school to do the right thing.

Oh no, my ds is only 19 months old, so I only know because my dh and I both teach English. I was actually rather impressed that you're thinking about your dd's next academic year already! I hope it all goes well
