How much of a say did you/do you have in your Yr9 LO's Options?

I just keep being told, they are called yr9 options, not parent options!

Did you push for them to take the right ones (in your opinion!) Did you guide them into the right ones or did you say 'you do what makes you happy?'

Just received DD's mid-term profile and it would be a crying shame, judging by the comments and results, if she didn't do a couple of the ones she is dithering on!

Do tell. I'm about to face another hurdle on the racetrack of parenthood and I fear I will not be Colin Jackson!

See ds wanted to take the it course option but then he also wanted to take history and geography which was same block school was leaning towards the gcse
but after me and ds discussed it he came to descion that for career he wants that the georgraphy history be more usefull but then again if he wanted it would hapily let him do it to

Daughter chose hers herself. I helped on one where she had a query and we broke the decision down but she still made the decision herself. She has to dothe work, afterall. She is now really motivated to hear if she has got them.

Her biggest issue really was the two reserve subjects as there wasn't anything else she wanted to do! I do hope she manages to get her choices.

Minda, DS?s choices sound very similar ? Maths, English x2, Science x3, IT and 1 foreign language all compulsory.

Then 3 out of ? a second foreign language, History, Geography, RE, Art, Drama, Music, Electronics, Graphics and PE.

We?ve only just had options outlined to us in the past week and choices have to be finalised by 15th March so I don?t think your friends need to panic just yet.
