Do any boards offer GCSE English language by exam only?

I am getting confusing information from DD, who has D in English Language. She is taking A levels, but so far has refused to retake English Language, because she feels she has tooooo much A level course work already. If necessary, I would pay for her to sit the exam, because I know this may well be a barrier to options in later life. She has English Literature at C. Hoping there might be a teacher or two out there today to answer this query.

You can certainly do international GCSEs by exam only link to EdExcel here. You would have to find an exam centre, which might be in an independent school in your area, and have to pay the exam fee and possibly also an admin fee. iGCSEs are accepted by colleges and universities as being the same as ordinary GCSEs.

My son did IGSCEs in both english language and literature last summer. be wary - they were alot more difficult than GCSEs. What I'm trying to say as politely as poss. is that if she got a D in Eng lang GCSE its going to take alot of work to get a better grade in the IGCSE.
