End of year 7 'targets'?

Can I be really nosey and possibly compare end of year 7 targets?
I know they're a bit of a meaningless pot of shite and subject to all sorts of nonsense and also that i am a very bad parent in wanting to compare DD to any other child BUT......
Here I have her end o year report with all these levels and without some conparison to any other average normal child they mean nothing.
The report says that end of year 7 should be expected to get Level 5 (a, b, c etc) and some may 'even' get some 6s.
So if anyone would be so kind to share.......
But not to make this a boasting, my DD is more G and T than yours thread.

DS hasn't been given any targets for the end of the year. All his targets are for the end of KS3.

Happy to, Nigella - I find the whole thing pretty baffling. Bring back Form Order say I (only partly in jest!)

Ds'levels in May were 6C for English, 6C for Maths, 5B for History and 5A for science. The others range from 3B for German to 6B for Drama. Her end of year targets were generally a sub level up on her May Levels - we'll hear whether she's met them on Wednesday.

Does this help?

High 5s/low 6s in core subjects is pretty good for end of year 7. I certainly wouldn't 'expect' year 7s to get level 5 - some lower ability children woulsd struggle to hit level 4.

3B in German will probably be because it's a new subject?

6B for Drama is probably really good, but a bit meaningless if you don't know the range of targets given across year 7.

(Oh & standard disclaimer - inherently corrupt system - but you know that already )

Her targets will depend on what her scores were at the end of KS2 and will also vary between subjects eg: targets for MFL may well be lower than for English, History etc as she has probably been studying them for a shorter time.

If she was L4 at the end of KS2, her targets for the end of Key Stage (not the end of Yr 7) should be at least Level 5s; if she was L5s at KS2, her targets for end of Yr 9 should be 6s or 7s etc. It is then possible, if wished, to "count back" to levels which make sense as targets for the end of Yr 7 and the end of Yr 8.

Hope that makes sense!

That makes sense then.
DD got a mix of 5s. Except MFL which were of course lower.m nothing unexpected and happily pootling along at the right level.
Cheers
