I'd be throughly peed off too. I'm a primary teacher (currently on Mat leave, but did a 0.4 job share).
If your job sharer is meant to be responsible for the class that day, THEY should be setting the work. AND making sure it's given to the correct person at the correct time.
I think you are a saint, going above and beyond the call of duty to actually go into school. I would have said "Sorry, I can't make it in."

Is a right cheek for crap colleague to phone you at home but also of deputy to expect you to do it.

Totally out of order - especially if she didn't ask you beforehand (ie emergency).

It is SO annoying to be rung about stuff on days off.

Do you think your deputy is trying to catch you out, or your colleague?

I think sometimes you can be seen as TOO reliable.

I have a friend who deliberately cultivates her "dizzy" side and so when I worked with her it was always me who came up with the goods iyswim.

It would worry me that your colleague wasn't able to set a little bit of work herself -she is a teacher, right? (regardless of whether she couldn't find the work you could have set, or you forgot or it was lost or whatever).

Surely you/she teach the children about thinking on their feet and working flexibly etc etc. Could she not just get on with it or does she like all the drama and feeling hard done by?
