Experiences of Laurus Cheadle Hulme for secondary school?

We are looking at a house in striking distance of Laurus Cheadle Hulme.
Does anyone have any experience of this school? Would you recommend it?
Children are in a private prep school right now, so looking to the future.
I've read the Ofsted etc,.so looking for people with personal experience. Thanks in advance.

Are you comparing with private? I’d say very strict / academic but no state can compare on sports and facilities.

The sports facilities look pretty good at Laurus but I do take your point.

It’s the time they get to use them that’s a big difference. Most state schools have very short breaks / lunch breaks and limited clubs as a result. Laurus call them electives and have set times but not all get their choice. I’d ask around locally as I’ve heard mixed reviews re extra curricular.
The school is academically good but depends on what gsce options you may want later too. Some bigger or privates good offer more options and defo more add ons
