Secondary National Offer Day 2026

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting news of secondary school allocations for September 2026? If so, come and bite your nails with me!

We've applied for 4 schools in our London borough, 3 girls schools and then our 4th choice is co-ed. Last year, we'd have got whichever one we put first, which will be down to changing demographics in London, so I'm hoping the same is true this year. As recently as 3 years ago, we wouldn't have got either of our first 2 choices on either faith or distance grounds, so I'm not counting my chickens!

We should be safe with either of our 3rd or 4th choices, as there's no year we wouldn't have got either of them, but still - I just want to know now!

@Tahoe11yes make sure to accept second place otherwise if it’s anything like Trafford you could end up anywhere! Good luck with the waitlist

we got first choice (sibling helped with that) but we might waitlist for a different school. She’s in a pickle atm about which she wants to go to. Will see how it pans out

Did you get your second choice? Essex here too, can’t even log in, it’s not sending a verification code when I try to.

Got our 1st choice. It was a 50/50 chance for us as last year, we would have missed out by 0.01 miles and the 'Furthest distance' has shrunk for the last 4 years in a row. Absolutely delighted!

Congratulations! Cheshire West here. First choice too (she's a sibling but always a chance I filled in the form wrong 😁). Phew and yay!

I assume it’s obvious when you log onto the e admissions website where you have been allocated…I can only see our application info currently. West Sussex area so I think we have to wait until later. Good luck everyone.

@FunnyMongoosei am also West Sussex. This is my second application as I applied for DD two years ago - just checked and the email for her came at 6.45am so you might not have too long to wait if it’s similar!

HELP! My DD got her 3rd choice. 1st choice was grammar school in different LA. How do we get on the waiting list for this as my LA only offers waiting lists for their own schools? Should I contact the school direct? We are absolutely gutted.

We’re in NW England, and are delighted because DD has her (and our) first choice. Such a relief! Sending best wishes to everyone with year six children today.

Ds got his first choice. I’m so relieved because it was 50/50. We are in Birmingham.

Only thing is I’m a little bit nervous as the portal hasn’t actually updated but we’ve had the email.

DS got his first choice (and only one we put down) We’re not catchment so feeling very relieved and happy!

Anyone in Devon still not had it come through? It's never been this late before.

No email yet, and I’ve just logged into the website and the allocations aren’t shown yet (Yorkshire). The website says it will be available by 10am.

I haven’t had anything yet - West Sussex. DD should get in without any problems, but I would really like to tell her before school this morning!

No not yet

1st choice here. Very relieved as out of catchment area but accepted on exceptional circs I suspect. Accepted school recently rated exceptional so I am very pleased !
