Secondary National Offer Day 2026

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting news of secondary school allocations for September 2026? If so, come and bite your nails with me!

We've applied for 4 schools in our London borough, 3 girls schools and then our 4th choice is co-ed. Last year, we'd have got whichever one we put first, which will be down to changing demographics in London, so I'm hoping the same is true this year. As recently as 3 years ago, we wouldn't have got either of our first 2 choices on either faith or distance grounds, so I'm not counting my chickens!

We should be safe with either of our 3rd or 4th choices, as there's no year we wouldn't have got either of them, but still - I just want to know now!

I’m getting really tense. Just want to know either way so we can celebrate/make plans if it doesn’t work out.

@Nushi21 if you're one of the London folks, it's 5pm TOMORROW I think. The non-London folk (me) can find out online at midnight and get an email 9am tomorrow. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I wonder why it's different in London. Although at least you don't need to stay up late... I still cant decide what to do for maximum sleep!

I'm in a proper flap about it. Ridiculously so!

DS is very nervous - he's not bothered which school particularly but he's worried he won't have any friends going. Sadly this is quite possible, lots of his class as going private or to a girls school then if the rest it comes down to tiny differences in address.

For this who have applied to a Wandsworth school they already have put the Offer Report on the website. Not sure if that helps or makes things worse for people!

Hey, anyone from Trafford waiting for allotment, any idea when this will be?

I believe the email from Hertfordshire said there would be nothing online until 10am tomorrow, so i suspect all areas are different.

How many choices has everyone put down? I’ve only put 4 down. Hope that’s enough.

I wish Westminster would put theirs online!

@Alee289 4 for us too, but very little chance for 2 of them. Decent chance at 1st choice if going by previous offer data, and 4th I'm pretty sure we'd get an offer.

We put 6 and they're our 6 closest schools. It's possible (but hopefully unlikely) that we'll get none of them! We'd have got into one of them last year so hopefully we're good for that one. Our closest school we are about 300m from furthest offer last year so there's a small chance we'll get that

Nope but then I'm not an over zealous Mum. Have put down 1 school, our local school so I'm not worried or obsessed about Ofsted ratings.

We had to put 6 but hoping for 1st choice

@Dadsbabeim Trafford. It will be before 11am. We get an email. With my eldest it arrived approx 1am. I didn’t wait up but when I woke in the night I checked & it was there. Bit of a mistake because we didn’t get our first choice then I couldn’t sleep! I think we will get our first choice this year due to the sibling rule but it’s now not the school my youngest wants. 🙄

Oh no, the classic midnight email check! Hopefully the sibling rule pulls through this time – kids do love changing their minds though 🙄” Waiting almost 6 months after the exam till unsure we will get our first choice since we are out of catchment

London here too, my list has schools in Lambeth, Southwark and Westminster. Trying not to stress before 5pm tomorrow but it's hard! Also irrationally worried I did the application wrong.

I'm the same! I keep thinking it'll have been lost or something.

Not sure that was the brightest idea. Even though my DS is pretty guaranteed a place I still chose another 2 schools as back up (we only select 3).

I have heard of loads locally who have done the same as you and ended up with a school miles away.

Our will come round 3am I checked and just cried my eyes he didn't get any of he's choices we had to appeal in the end was dreading telling him he's almost 18 now and he's brother is now in yr 10 same school so I think my son will get in I have a DD in yr 5 so will be doing it again sept
