Alleyn’s university destination breakdown

Alleyn’s doesn’t list the breakdown of uni destinations and courses in the same way as schools like Sevenoaks or DC. All it says on the website is 10% going to Oxbridge and 63% to Russell group. It is a well regarded school but I wanted to get a better understanding of how many kids went on to STEM related degrees at say imperial, ucl or Durham. Just curious if I am missing something.

I just checked and it says 21 students got in to oxbridge last year which was their best year ever. I

Alleyn's doesn't come accross as a strong STEM school ... have you asked them for the breakdown ?

Haven’t asked them yet. Will do if the DS gets an offer. On the open day they did seem to have a focus on STEM.
if any existing parents can comment on their STEM teaching and destinations then that would be much appreciated.

Yes they have done well with Oxbridge. For me I am looking at beyond Oxbridge and more into the kind of degrees they go for. DS might not be the top 20 that might get into Oxbridge but if they are sending kids to other good school like KCL, UCL for STEM degrees then that gives me a better idea of how much focus they have on STEM? Maybe I am over analysing!

You could look at A levels for a proxy. I think there's around 180 students per year at A level, so these numbers for Maths, Further Maths and the sciences look strong to me - haven't looked at other schools though.

It's an expensive school with high academic standards and doubtless excellent facilities. I should think it'd give kids as good a chance as anywhere else of getting into an RG STEM course?
