Secondary schools when living in Raynes Park

We are looking for a bigger home and quite keen on Raynes Park (London), specifically Cottenham Park area. Primary schools in the area seem great, but we’re quite concerned about the secondary school situation. After having done some research online (Ofsted, Mumsnet, Reddit, smaller forums), it seems that you’re not in the catchment area for “good” state secondaries (Rutlish, Wimbledon College) and we would end up having to send our children to Raynes Park High. Reading people’s comments online about RPH is quite shocking, to the point we would absolutely want to avoid having to send our children there. Would be really interested to hear which secondary schools other people’s children are attending, if living in Raynes Park/Cottenham Park? Any other insights on this topic would also be greatly appreciated! We are looking for our forever home and don’t want to get this wrong.

We have one 21 month old and another baby on the way, both boys. Partner is catholic, but not practicing. I’m Lutheranian as I grew up overseas, also not practicing. I guess we could still up our Sunday church game if absolutely necessary.

Coombe Boys?

Coombe Boys/Girls
Rutlish
Wimbledon College
Ursuline High
The Holy Cross
Richard Challoner
The Oratory

All the above have many students coming from RP.

most people living in big homes in Cottenham Park send their kids to private schools. If you prefer state then there is perhaps hope for Wimbledon College (Catholic) as the religious requirement allows a larger catchment.

Anything can change in 10 years but RP is certainly well in the catchment for Rutlish - boys travel from much further away. I'd put money on Raynes Park High being up there too by the time your kids are that age anyway though. It's strong on sport with great facilities and is one of the few co-ed choices in the area. Coombe Boys is another great option.
