I’m hoping to hear some first-hand feedback about Hurst’s Sixth Form for a student aiming for a future in law or politics.
If you currently have a child there, are you happy with your decision to send them for Sixth Form? Anything you wish you’d known beforehand, or any regrets about the choice?
We’re also looking at state Sixth Forms, but the ones in our area feel massive, so I’d really appreciate insights from parents who’ve been through this with Hurst.

I dont know Hurst College, but looking at their exam results ... nothing listed for Law or Politics. That is the problem with small sixth forms, they dont offer the breadth of subjects.
I'd go for a sixth form college personally, better preparation for university.

Under 'Academic' for the sixth form, there is a slot for Politcs, but expanding it, it says ' coming soon', so presumably they are in the process of preparing to offer it as an A level? A level Law is less commonly taught anyway, and certainly not a required subject for studying Law at university (nor is Politics for Politics, for that matter). I was interested (and a bit saddened tbh) to see that German is not one of the MFL available at either GCSE or A level, but the OP didn't mention MFL anyway.

I rather assumed hat the OP meant that their DC (or the OP on their DC's behalf, not necessarily the same thing) was looking for somewhere to study A levels suitable for a future career in the law or in politics, though, rather than to study those actual subjects at A level?

We recently visited the college and confirmed that they do offer Politics, and seem to deliver it quite well — it looks like the website just hasn’t been updated. We’re not specifically looking for Law at A level, as it’s rarely offered and not required for a Law degree anyway.
What I’m really trying to get is a genuine feel for the Sixth Form there. Our DC has been in the private system the entire life, so moving into a very large Sixth Form college might not be the best fit. And with deadlines approaching, we’re starting to run out of time to make a decision.
