Suggestions please for secondary schools to consider and details of entry requirements .
Currently Y5. girl. Active. Bright. untutored to date. recently diagnosed AuDHD. Not quite met her potential each year (yet) due to struggles with accessing curriculum in the classroom - sensitive to change and perfectionism stopping her from starting / finishing. Also tendency to become mute when under stress.

however improving all the time and her state school provides the right amount of support and challenge.

What schools would you consider within easy reach of Worcester Park?

and how would you prepare if there is an entrance exam? (New to the area and have no clue!!!)

My friend has recently moved her daughter to Claremont in Esher. They have busing and got bursaries. Not sure how much, though. It's quite a small school, which she likes.

Two of my kids attend ACS in Cobham, we don't use the buses, though as in walking distance. I liked the international aspect of the school. I think they do bursaries??

Most of the private schools seem to be in the Esher/Cobham way?

My other friedns son is at Harrodian, but she pays full fees. Don't know about bursaries. Or Kingston Grammar etc.

What is your local state school?

Local state is Epsom & Ewell or Blenheim.

Not keen on either.
there is also Nonsuch girls and Coombe Girls

im not sure what else we are are in the catchment for but I understand some apply to grammar schools.

Look at Sutton High School. It is an all-girls independent school with a bursary fund. There is a school minibus to Worcester Park, as well as local transport bus connections.

Bursaries are not the magical answer.
My niece got one at a private school and it then closed last year. The more of them a school hands out the bigger the alarm bells should be.

My sister was left trying to find a decent local comp, which mid-year is incredibly difficult.
