Absence limit for examiner meetings

I’ve been asked to take on additional duties this year for the board I work for.

Does your school have a set policy around how many days off you are allowed to take for examiner meetings each year? And if so, how many are paid and would they let you take the rest unpaid if you went over that?

I am trying to find out what is normal and reasonable as it’s quite a few more days than usual and not all during study leave so cover is likely to be an issue. Thanks.

Are you paid for this work? If so and you are proposing to undertake your duties during your normal working hours, the contract could be with your trust / school and then they have the money to pay for cover.

Apologies, I’ve re-posted this in staff room to find teachers who have experience of this. Yes it is paid (not very well) but it’s always been the case that teachers are released for attendance at fixed date standardisation meetings as they have to meet with team leader and undertake various tasks to ensure ability and consistency before being allowed to mark - and when undertaking more senior examiner duties there are more fixed meeting days like this required. Not the actual marking of course that is always strictly in the teachers’ own time for any parents reading! .

I used to be a moderator. I was allowed to attend all meetings/trainings and visits to schools.
