How was it for them? Would they recommend it? What was their experience like? Do the girls feel fully integrated and respected?

Thanks

So STEM subjects seem to put you at a disadvantage - is that purely down to limited teachers / classes? I wonder what their least popular subjects are.

I reckon it's because the internal candidates (ie existing Y11 boys) tend to choose those subjects more and so they get full up quickly. So there is more capacity for the non-STEM subjects.

This. My son is lower down the school and they are obliged to take year 11s first if they get the entry requirements for the sixth form. STEM are more popular, hence, why it's difficult to get a place on STEM subjects if you're external

But then by default, girls will be more humanities subjects there, which in turn doesn’t make it very inclusive.

It isn't meant to be inclusive - it's a super selective grammar school, I guess the only reason they allowed girls was to keep the humanities subjects going... just a hunch.

All schools with sixth forms are obliged to take their year 11s if they have the entry requirements. They're doing the right thing.
