Frensham Heights??

Hi,
We’re looking at Frensham Heights for our daughter. Shes had lots of time off this year (Year 10) in her mainstream state school due to a mix of anxiety, overwhelm and the school being too under resourced to help.
we love the look of Frensham and would like to put her in at Year 10 so she can pretty much start again!
it’d be a big move though as we live in Cheshire so would mean relocating. We don’t want to do all that only to find it doesn’t work out!
The key things she’s need to settle would be a slightly reduced timetable, kind supportive teachers and just an understanding that she’s easily overwhelmed when under pressure. She needs somewhere that will rebuild her!
Id really appreciate any thoughts, feedback on whether Frensham would be a good choice?

Have you spoken directly to the school?

They are very selective in terms of the SEN they feel they can handle, and when I spoke to them a few years ago, they definitely were more for the mildly dyslexic and quirky, and not for children with emotional problems. It was very much about whether my child would fit with their system rather than the other way round . It as fine for us as DD just ADHD and dyslexic, so can't spell and crap EF but no emotional issues but might not be for another - they wanted reports upfront before they would even discuss anything else.

Bedes in Eastbourne might also be worth a look if you'd have to move.

We went for a visit and had a chat about my daughter’s needs. They have asked for a report but they seem to suggest they’re OK with it? Having said that there’s no formal offer. She is diagnosed ASD and I’ve told them. She would definitely need a gradual transition though and staff who understand high masking ASD girls! It’s so hard to know as the environment looks amazing but at the same time could still be overwhelming?
