GCSE laptop use and A-levels candidate number

My son uses a laptop for his assessments for the past couple of years. Up and including the mocks, they were not told to sign every printed page. He did the drama exam at the start of the GCSEs and was told to sign the front page. In subsequent exams they were told to sign every page. He only today told me about this.

So the Drama exam only has the first printed page signed and not the rest. Does anyone know if/how this could affect him? Will it be okay? (Exam board - AQA)

In other news my daughter forgot to write her candidate number on her A-levels paper today. She contacted the school and they said not to worry. But I worry! Do they definitely check such things before sending them off?

Ta!

Yes they check and no it doesn't matter.

Thanks for your reply. Regarding my son's printed answers sheets, would they write his name at the end of each page?

I don't know what an individual centre will do.

But I've seen all kinds of things and they all get marked just fine.

Have only worked in secondary school exams but it shouldn’t be an issue. All the papers are checked in terms of names and candidate numbers by the school before being sent off for marking.

This should be in the header? Did he not practice in his mocks?

No, the first time they were told to write their names was in their first GCSE and, as I said, just signing the end of the front page.

There have been sooooo many issues with that school and the exams.

DD has to sign every page back and front (GCSEs), one of my friends is an invigilator for SEN and the school she works in the kids don't have to sign the print out at all.

So don't panic!

New rule applied only this year, for word processor use, candidate should sign on every pages.

It is candidates' responsibility to write down correct candidates' number. In case they forgot, exam officer should pick it up and write for them. However, exam officer will not help you to write other information , e.g. signature, names, paper reference etc. Therefore, occassionally, exam board will missed some of the scripts (largely because of information missed in the front page)
