Maths for Olimpiads

Hello, my son is 8 years old and he really enjoys mathematics. He is currently working with a tutor, but has already started exploring more advanced topics. We'd like to support his interest further — does anyone know of any math circles or clubs that prepare children for math olympiads? Ideally, we’re looking for something either online or based in North London.

Please don’t pressure your kid. Let him enjoy maths. If so had put my maths-inclined child into extra classes at 8 years old, she would have started hating maths and would have burned out. At 8 years old she did maths puzzles for fun and watched maths videos and did challenges through school which she did well in etc. she does not have a tutor. She enjoys maths. Don’t suck the joy out of maths by making it a chore. If your child is mathematically inclined he will be invited to Olympiads when he gets to the appropriate stage.

Year 3 or 4 is a little young for real Math Circles, but you can check these people out when he's older. In the meantime, these people have both in-person courses in Hampstead and online courses which you might find interesting.

As a lighter alternative, you might try a series of books called Enrich-e-matics. You could give him one or two sheets a week and see if he finds them interesting. I'm linking to Ebay because they're Australian and a pain to get new in the UK.

Have a look at Parallelogram initially.
From Year 8ish (I think) and if your DC attend a state school (I think) they can be put forward for the after school outreach classes run by the two London maths schools

There's Beast Academy for general challenge maths, NRICH is free, or https://www.londonsmp.co.uk/ for something local/phys I can't really give specifics without knowing more about which level he's currently at.
