I need to pack dds rucksack with enough food to last 2 days. We have bought past and sauce for her hot meal as will only need to add boiling water. However ive no idea what to pack for lunch ?
She has dried milk and small bag of cereal for breakfast.
I`ll buy some cereal bars and some sugary sweets but i cany exactly pack a few sandwiches as will take up too much room and get warm and squashed.
Any ideas most welcome x

We did pack sandwiches. Put them at the top and apparantly they were fine. DS1 did this last week - practice hike Mon/Tues then the real thing Thurs/Fri. I bought a whole cooked chicken and made him 4 sandwiches which kept him going all day the first day with some cereal bars, fruit and chocolate (and he is a typical always eating teenage boy). Hot meal at night. Cereal for breakfast with "energy" choc milk drink then tuna (sealed foil pack) in tortillas for lunch next day (he brought bacon and beans for breakfast first trip but said it made too much mess). He complained after the first trip that he didn't have enough stuff to snack on so brought some fruit/nut mix second time round. At least your DD doesn't have to worry about spiders and snakes

shouldn't your dd and her fellow group be sorting the food out ,not you

I agree with gg. Planning the food is something that they should be doing as a group. It is part of what they are required to do to complete the scheme.

My Dd is doing her practise early July and I've just mentioned food to her and her answer was, we know what we are taking for food.

gingsters pasties last for ages squished int he bottom of a rucksack. Trust me
Crackers and primula cheese are good ones too.

Mind you it is bronze, you can just live off cereal bars and raw jelly for bronze.

Thanks everyone.
Did the crackers and primula !
My dd is doing the bronze practice ex .
She wont be expected to sort out the food as part of a group as she has to feed herself for 2 days and not the other members of the group.
As shes been doing her gcses all week early i said i`d sort out her food because if she doesnt eat she will fit.Otherwise yes i would have left it to her and her group.
