Does anyone have feedback on BH Junior School ? We’re looking for a school that supports both academic excellence and confidence-building for our daughter. While we’ve heard glowing reviews about the school’s ability to boost confidence, we’re unsure if it places enough emphasis on academics. We’d appreciate any insights!

Interested to hear feedback on this too. It’s an option for our daughter but have other local schools on our list to consider. What year are you considering? We are looking at reception.

My daughter went to Bromley High Junior and stayed on for the senior. We were very disappointed in the quality of teaching in year 5 and 6 particulary. I think it has changed now but they were streaming for maths then and lower sets got awful teaching. For various reasons we kept DD on for senior school - she has done well but so she should for the fees. The school is woeful about sorting out friendship stuff and you have to keep pushing to get things sorted.
Very complacent, Head does not respond adequately to emails (i sent two in 7 years and got limited response.
Pastoral care is very low on the list despite what they say. Their focus is on a select few. The prize giving for senior years this year was embarassing.

DD built a lot of confidence at primary school and progress was good. She stayed there for secondary school. Academically, girls will progress well at their own speed. Overall she was very happy and never wanted to change. We think it's overall a good school.
However, there is an amount of nepotism with daughters from teachers and management given priorities over prizes, scholarships and other considerations.
They were proactive in solving most of the pastoral care issues, but the one time we did engage with the head it wasn't resolved to our satisfaction and it was a problem directly resulting from the actions of their senior management team.
